Zapaka - Vintage inspired dress review

Happy New Year everyone! New year, same me. What's your projects for the roaring twenties? For me it's the same as always, traveling as much as possible! I'll start with a weekend in Marrakesh with my mother and my sister in a few days.
Anyway, we're not here to talk about my wanderlust, at least not in this entry. We're here to talk about clothes. Nothing's better than cute affordable clothes, don't you agree?

Il fonctionne en 2 temps :

Today, I'd like to review a dress from the shop Zapaka
This is a sponsored review. They kindly sent me a dress so I can write you my true opinion about it. So, here we go.

What is Zapaka ? "Created out of one girl's love for vintage clothing, Zapaka.com is here to serve like-minded retro and vintage-inspired fashion fiends"
First of all, what I like with Zapaka is that they take pictures of all their dresses. So the ones you see on the website are real, you should not have any bad surprise this way.

♥ The dress I choose it's the following one, in M size
Click on the picture to see it on the brand's website

The dress has been sent to me on December the 30th and I've received it on January the 2nd. I'm very pleased about how fast it was! I've received the dress in a plastic envelope, wrap in a cute zip plastic bag with the logo of the brand (I really like that kind of bag to be honest!).

The dress doesn't have any lining, but the fabric used is very soft and opaque. I love that the dress has pockets!!!! Another very good thing, is that it doesn't need ironing! I'm terribly lazy and I hate to iron my clothes. After washing it (at 30°C, using the machine machine),  just hung the dress and it will be ready to wear once dry!

About the color, it varies if you look at it inside or outside. It looks more bright outdoors, as you'll see in the worn pictures.

About the fit, I've nothing to say! I fit like a glove! M size was the perfect choice for me! It's very comfortable. PERFECT!
It's a beautiful dark green dress, simple enough to be worn day and night. That's why I've decided to make a day outfit and an evening outfit to show how with small different accessories you can twist your style and go out just after work.

 Day wear:

I styled the dress with a mak sweater cardigan (review coming soon!), a brown beret, a vintage bag, and flats. During the day I'm very active, so flats are the best option for running around!

Evening Wear:

For the night I like to feel fancy. I added Vivienne Westwood earrings, a matching belt, a pair of leather gloves and true vintage shoes and hat.

So far, I'm very pleased with everything! My only criticism is that because of the lack of lining, the dress has a bit of static electricity when you wear tights. Nothing that can't be resolved with a bit of hairspray (apply a bit of hairspray on the inner side of the skirt, it works like magic for static electricity!)

This dress is 42€. You can take en extra 15% with the code "EXTRA15".
More? The shipping is free worldwide!

♥♥♥
What do you think? Do you like this dress as much as I do?
A huge thank you to Zapaka for this collaboration ♥

Thank you for reading me and see you soon in a next entry

Lolita on the budget : Vintage and offbrand treasures ♥

You may not know, but I’m a vintage and offbrand lover. Every single piece I can find in a non-lolita shop is a real treasure to me. Most of the time, my finds come from thrift shops (Salvation Army, Frenchies, Louie’s good clothing…) or random shops (Aéropostale, H&M, Naf-Naf…). Today I’d like to share with you my some of my loliable treasures in 3 coordinations 100% offbrand!

JSK: Vintage from the 80's
Blouse: Thrifted
Shoes: Mel by Melissa
Headdress: Lollipops
Necklace: Offbrand (gift)

My creed: this is not because the label is not a lolita one that your stuff doesn't match lolita style. I spend a lot of time in thrift shops and on the internet in order to try to find THE dress. And I really think that vintage/pin-up fashion is quite close to Lolita. To me, a good pin-up dress can be a good base for Lolita style. But don’t try to make me say what I didn't say, the quality is very important. So please, avoid any kind of “wap-doo-wap” brand dress or any “super glamorous cosplay retro pin-up” silky dress bought on ebay.

JSK: Vintage from the 50's (present from my friend Nella)
Blouse: Thrifted
Shoes: New look
Headdress: Offbrand (gift)
Belt: Gift found inside a random girly magazine

Ce sera tout pour aujourd’hui ! Mon conseil du jour : gardez toujours un œil attentif car il se peut que vous trouviez votre bonheur dans les magasins les plus improbables. ♡(*´∀`*)

That’s all for today! If I can give you an advice, it’s to be attentive when you do shopping, you may find the perfect lolita clothe in the most unexpected places. ♡(*´∀`*)

Skirt: Thrifted
